saturday night

Saturday night found us at Bonnie’s house two-year-old-heaven for her husband, Josh’s birthday. Bonnie’s friend Mollie is another oh-so-talented photographer who took some totally covert shots of us enjoying our evening. Thank you Bonnie for the great night and Mollie for the great photos. finnegain followup

Videos from our outing with Finny are below. Finny explains the dangers of the play-structure: Harrison: “I caught a bug in my hat… that’s silly.” Finny scares Harrison: Pretty cute stuff. Listening: Beulah

a date with mr. beginagain

I have mentioned before Harrison’s ability to adapt to new environments, people, caretakers and the like – in fact the week-and-a-half that it took him to assimilate to pre-school was the longest adjustment period we’ve experienced. So, when we ended our nanny-share and immediately went on vacation to California in July it was no surprise [...]

christmas in july

I thought I’d spend a bit of time this morning getting caught up on vacation photos – when I found Christmas photos from last year. Oopsies! So, rather than a peak into our Bay Area-Tahoe-California-summer-extravaganza, I give you a look back on a chubby 1.5 year-old learning the finer points of present-opening cupcake eating skateboarding [...]

spreading the love

It took a trip halfway across the country to find kids that Harrison could accost without objection. If it isn’t obvious – we’re on vacation and because we are short on cash and other things that make a vacation really fun and indulgent I have allowed myself to not blog for three weeks without guilt. [...]

lucy

Harrison met a new girl today. “Lucy. Has brown hair. Went in tunnel witha me.” Apparently Harrison spent some time in the tunnel and on the turtle at the park with Lucy. Stroking her hair and talking in a partially-coherent 2-year old language – according to Chelsea. Chelsea also reported that while H was flirting [...]

2 year old conversation

As reported by Chelsea as she observed them sitting in the fun-room together yesterday. Finn: “I miss Daddy” Harrison: “He’s at work.” Finn: “I miss Daddy” Harrison: “He’s at work.” Finn: “I miss Daddy” Harrison: “He’s. At. Work.” Apparently there was a hint of frustration in H’s voice nearing the end of the exchange. This [...]

portraits round two

We hired the excellent Bonnie Berry to photograph us once again, to commemorate Harrison’s second year. Here’s a little trip down memory lane to last years shoot: For this one we decided to brave the wild urban landscape and get gawked at down on South Congress. All dressed up with a few dozen balloons trailing [...]

happy birfday to meeeeee

Aunty Kylies and Uncle Jeff gave Harrison a Fireman’s suit for his birthday and we opened it first thing in the morning after they arrived. And while Harrison loved it and immediately donned the hat, vest, badge and tools, extinguisher, walkie-talkie, etc… he was, per usual, more interested in the book that came with it. [...]

challenges

Today has resulted in three crying fits because Harrison wants to love-on Finny. A sitting-hug, a standing hug and an attempt to help Finny fasten the fireman’s vest have all been refused by Finn, sending Harrison into hysterics. Poor little dude. He just needs someone to love. Good news is pre-school starts at the end [...]
