demo

as in demolition crew.
as in demo-ing a 10′x15′x3′ area of cement outside the window behind me.
as in demolishing my capacity for creativity.
as in need to demobilize the babies from the house as quickly as possible because it sounds as if their world is crumbling in all around them. (UPDATE: the babies have now been moved [...]

a letter to the kid: month 5

Dear Harrison,
You are five months old almost six months old now (I know I know - a few days is acceptable… but, almost a month late - my ticket to mommy-hell just got upgraded to first-class).
When you were about four weeks old a client/friend told us that he and his wife thought that five months [...]

spilled milk…literally.

I just dropped a bottle filled with about 3 ounces of breastmilk.
- I will pause so that any breastfeeding mothers out there can catch their collective breaths -
I spilled the milk onto the counter and a dirty dishtowel. After my heart started back up I thought about how I could just squeeze the milk back [...]

halloween!

Nicole and Kara win the big prize!

The boy was a monkey. Pretty mundane, but, super cute. The costume which was store-bought by his lazy-ass parents, worked out to cost about $3/minute. But, it was totally worth it.

sleep training : nap 1

sleep training : night 1

no post today…

Because I am too busy picking myself up off the floor after my head exploded earlier today…
The kid SLEEPS…
ON HIS OWN!
More info on sleep training later. After my brain rearranges itself and my view of the world comes back into focus through the newly rose-colored glasses of a mom whose son sleeps… like a big [...]
