origins of “saves the day”

Last week I wrote about H repeating the phrase “saves the day” and I didn’t know where it came from. I reluctantly and falsly assumed it was from TV. But, no – hooray! It was from Harrison’s most favorite new book.

Fireman Small.

Fireman Small was a birthday gift from Aunty “Booklady” Margaret. My Aunt Margaret has been building Harrison’s library since he was born. Filling his shelves with some of our most favorites:

fun rhyming books,

beautifully illustrated landscape/science books,

monster-love books,

and north-west America native folklore books among others.

All of which we treasure and Harrison loves.

THANK YOU AUNTY MARGARET!!!

Fireman Small is so busy! He gets so many calls he has no time to rest. It is clear he has made an impression on Harrison. So glad he is enjoying the books. Some may he alittle too old for him now, but one can never tell. He is very smart you know. Love you guys.

  2. Yes there are so many others that you have given him. Some of the new bday ones we put away to save as treats for other days!
