thanksgiving, oh what have you done to my son?
We had a lovely, lovely turkey day with Finn’s family. Absolutely one of the best t-day meals I have ever had. Thank you to you all for letting us crash.
There was football on upstairs and while we were waiting for dinner H and I crawled up to take a peek. We were maybe in front of the TV for five minutes, watching what I assumed H thought was just pretty lights and colors. Um… no. While at the grocery store over the weekend we passed what previously would have been known to the kid as an inconsequential piece of inflated rubber was FUBAH! FUBAH! FUBAH!
Wait, are you saying football?
FUBAH! FUBAH! FUBAH! FUBAHHHHHH!!!!
You’re kidding me. Really? Football?
Cut to today. For the last 45 minutes Marc and I have been hearing the cheerful sounds of an exuberantly happy toddler yelling something that we thought was BUBBLE! I assumed he was playing with the balloons I blew up for him and was mistakenly calling them bubbles.
No. For now, 50 minutes and counting he’s been throwing and catching the football with Elizabeth.
And he’s good at it. (My mom is convinced that a kid named Harrison Blase born in Texas is destined for stardom and is already picturing herself wearing the burnt orange and flying out for every game.)
Oh dear.
Is it possible that two marching band geeks can produce a football player? Say it ain’t so.
Listening: Little Joy

That’s really, really funny! Todd and I are over here wondering how two athletes have produced, thus far, a little musician who, when we take him outside makes everything into an instrument and walks around singing while we kick and throw balls at him (which he ignores) – go figure.
HA!!
so… nicole… any news!?
I notice you put your Mom would fly out for all the games. I would and I would probably drag Dad along also even though I am the sportsnut in the family.
ha ha! hilarious and really cute! can’t wait to see you guys.
dylan found the one and only football in the bottom of the ball bag. i keep sticking it at the bottom, he keeps digging it out.
Hook ‘em! If Harrison is playing for UT I’ll be making the trek as well. I’m volunteering ahead of time to take him to a game next time we’re in Austin. I’m more than happy to brainwash him into being a UT fanatic….
we will take you up on that Joe!
congratulations by the way – I saw some photos… what an incredibly lovely day. you and Liv are GORGEOUS!
