learning from elizabeth (2)
Last Friday Auntie Kylies (that’s my sister Kylie’s official family name) came to visit after working in Dallas and Houston all week. We started mentioning to H that KYLIES is coming! KYLIES is coming! the night before. And mentioned it again when Elizabeth arrived Friday morning. She took it upon herself to teach H to say Kylie. To which I replied GOOD LUCK… her name is tough for toddlers – a “K” & “L” sound… brutal! When I walked in the door with my sister later that afternoon H was shy per usual, but, only for about 30 seconds. Then after looking her up and down a few times he remembered her. I don’t know what it is about my sister but, Harrison has always looooooved her.
After hugs all around, Elizabeth asked Harrison if he knew who this guest was. And he replied loud and clear something along the lines of: TY-EEEEE! He said it over and over and I swear he even shouted out a notoriously difficult to pronounce “K” sound in there one of the times.
Kylie cried. Such a SUCKER!
It was really pretty cute.

I think I might cry, too.
I am eternally grateful to Elizabeth. To hear Harrison using his words is such a joy (“help, please”). Looking forward to conversations with that little boy – can’t wait to hear what’s going on in that brilliant little mind.
He is the cutest little 18 month old ever!! We might just have to trek to Green Valley for Finn and Harrison to have a playdate, if you guys have time!
