friday night dance party
Sorry for the delay Maggie!
Here’s a little glimpse into our exciting, city lives…gettin’ all glammed up, imbibing tropical fruit-infused cocktails and dancing ’til dawn. OK, not so much… but, there is a bit of early evening dancing.
This video, while on the long side, shows a new milestone for H – he was either just really moved by this uber catchy Phoenix song, or has learned to string together dance moves. It’s incredibly cute.
Saturday morning he pointed to the living room, then to the TV (where the music comes from) and in his toddler-speak, which is more like playing a game of charades with a grouchy, old, non-English-speaking Russian man, asked for more music. When I finally said as much to him – “Ohhhhhh, would you like me to turn on the music so we can have another dance party?” – his squawking and incessant pointing stopped, he looked at me with his head tilted to the side, chin tucked down near his neck with a beaming smile and said – “UH.” Which is his typical “yes”. I’m not sure where he picked up the “UH” as a way to communicate “yes”, but, with a little nod he would fit in just fine in Japan.
Our Saturday morning dance parties are significantly more mellow – nothing like some O’s and a little John Prine to welcome the sun.
Listening: Pheonix (H is into a French-Indie-Pop phase right now)

These videos are so funny. Another one added to my faves. Love it.
hah! so cute!
dylan does the “uh” japanese style too.
Love it. He’s growing up so fast. Love the moves. He’s kind of a head banger.
