out of nowhere

The kid is developing an imagination, which is the most exciting development since he errected himself from the crawling blob-like creature that was Harrison-10-months-ago.

I asked him if he would share his milk with his dinosaur and he immediately held the little yellow creature to the straw and made sipping sounds.

I’m not exaggerating.

It was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen.

I suppose because it’s a sign that he is truly a blob no longer. That he is an actual human being. That his brain is indeed developing… even the most laid-back parents can’t help themselves but, to compare their kids development with other children both in real life and on the parents-worst-friend – the internets – and we all know that I am not one of those “laid-back parents”. So, the fact that he isn’t tremendously advanced (or so I used to think) in his verbal abilities was a bit more worrisome before this imagination-development.

Now, that I know that he thinks his toys are alive and need food – I’m all good.

  1. He’ll probably be one of those kids that just starts talking in complete sentences. It’s so hard not to compare and worry but your kid is perfect!

  2. Just be stoked on how happy Harrison is. Words are totally overrated. Smiles, giggles and bright eyes are so much better. (And yes, I totally struggle not to compare my kids to a: other kids and b: to each other.)
