hard ache
The baby was up for three hours at midnight on Tuesday night screeching like a possessed Howler Monkey. We were terrified that we broke him because of all of the traveling. That he would never again sleep through the night. Marc went to get him and he screamed and screamed. Marc could put him to sleep while holding him, but, the minute he put him down he would scream himself awake. After two hours we agreed that there had to be something wrong – teeth finally? or an earache, maybe? I can only assume that it was because we were both half-asleep that it took us so long to figure out and trust our instincts that he was actually in pain and not just being obstinate. Se we gave him some Motrin and he slept until 8am. We decided to take him to the doctor yesterday afternoon to see if maybe it was an earache.
It was indeed. “In both ears. Very bad in the left.” With a slight fever. We got some antibiotics and the go-ahead to give him Motrin. Luckily he seems to be fine during the day while he’s playing probably because he is so excited that he is almost about to crawl – for real, with knees and everything (more on that tomorrow) – that he can’t be bothered with a little acute pain in the ear.

Poor baby. But of course with the photo you wouldn’t know it. Can’t wait to see him really crawling.
oh poor little guy. that’s probably why he didn’t sleep well here either. poor baby! hope he’s feeling better soon.
For over a week we were sure we just weren’t holding Amelia enough or not paying enough attention to her. At least I was. Well we are fighting an ear infection, a gastro problem and reflux after 5 visits to the pediatrician. We feel your pain.
you are kidding me! that poor little angel. i’m so sorry to hear that she is/was sick! i wish her a very speedy recovery and for you and andrea i wish as much sleep as possible.
