off to Marfa

We are embarking on our first real travel experience with the kid this morning. Flying to El Paso, renting a car and driving 3 1/2 hours to Marfa for the weekend with Albert & Tari at this great house that Tari found. Then on Monday we drive back to El Paso and fly to Sacramento where the grandparents will be eagerly awaiting our the kid’s arrival.

Marfa is a bit of a modern art haven. I am especially excited to see the Marfa,TX Prada store. I think it all started with Donald Judd – he started a museum where many of his large architectural sculptures are housed.

We also get to see Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band at The Ballroom which looks like a very cool venue. Tari and I got to see him here in Austin a month ago, but, you can never get too much of that little, spitting, singer-songwriter.

That’s the plan anyway – we’ll see how it all goes.
