an exercise in futility
Just tried to pump while reading The Night of The Gun by David Carr. Which I can only imagine is like trying to masturbate while in church – unless of course you’re into that kind of thing.
The book is getting a lot of great press and deservedly so. It was written by a friend of a friend of ours, so there is added reality to what is a factually explicit tale of drugs, addiction, abuse and eventually recovery. It is a great read… but, if I was the type of person who looked up words I don’t know while reading, I wouldn’t yet be past the first few pages.
