stalker
So, I spent most of the day yesterday stalking the Chowanecs. OK, so it’s not technically stalking when they are good friends and they invite you over, but, still.
John pulled off a semi-live-blogging of the birth of their second child. A son! Dylan. The sex was a surprise - either way we were set - a boy will make an excellent playmate for Harrison while a girl would have made a hellofa girlfriend for him.
Harrison slept most a lot of the day - this must be one long growth spurt - which should have allowed me to catch up on the eight projects that need to be done before my sister’s wedding this Saturday; however, I spent the day with my mouse affixed to the refresh button on their site waiting for more news of the sequel.
Finally word came that the child had arrived:
(3:06pm) : she’s done. that must have been a world record. moon woman two is playing, by elvis perkins. we’ll post the stats in a minute.
(3:06pm): dylan oliver chowanec (”doc”) arrives in the world — safe and sound. largely uneventful. yes, it’s a boy.
And right then Harrison woke up from his nap. I unswaddled him and told him about his new friend. I was so thrilled - more so than I imagined. Partly because it’s the first baby that we know to come after our own and we get to enjoy all of the excitement and none of the stress. And partly because we have been there and it rekindles all those feelings we got to experience just a few months ago. The birth of a child truly is the most amazing thing you can ever experience in this life. I am deeply grateful to have had that.
We wish Kara, John, Owen and Dylan a beautiful life!
