babies

We’re staying with my parents - a great chance for them to get to know the kid and for us to live rent-free within 2 hours of San Francisco and Tahoe. They live about 5 minutes from Highway 80, not that you would know it from the looks of some of their neighbors:

A fox family has taken up residence next door in the empty house and frequents my parents’ porch in search of fresh water and lizards. Marc is in charge of chasing them off, which he does gleefully, so that the rabies-flea-and-tick infested varmints don’t get too comfortable around humans. And while my mom and I know that is best, we can’t help but whine each time he does, because they are just so darn cute.

  1. While I was reading that post I was thinking all the time “I bet Desley is feeding them” :)

Now Rachel I have given up feeding the animals (well almost given up). After one small deer got hit and came and layed outside the kitchen door and died there I promised Bill I wouldn’t feed them anymore. Of course Bill had to drag the carcass down to the street because the county animal control will not come on your property to remove them. The joys of living in the wild - what with deer, turkeys, quail, and now foxes and sometime coyotes it gets a little crazy. Desley
