stuck
2 month check-up - 2 weeks early - 5 shots - 1 perfect baby.
He rocked his appointment today. He cried for about 7 seconds after the nurse stuck him with 5, did I mention that there were FIVE?, shots and then chilled out with a pacifier. The pacifier is not a necessity for him, and we have to hold it in, but, is an effective distraction when we need one. He is weighing in at 11 pounds 10 ounces on an empty belly. And he’s 21 3/4 inches long. The length puts him at only the 25% but, he is indeed beefy - 70%. The doctor originally stacked him up against the 2-month old stats - which made him at the 10% for length, which was worrisome, until I reminded her that we were in early. But, honestly why on earth would we/should we be concerned about his length? There is absolutely nothing we can do about it. Weight I get - we can always feed him more, but, height - come on! She said “10th percentile” like we had done something wrong. Like we should be ashamed of our performance as parents… or perhaps that was all in my head. I have been known to suffer from crazy-parent syndrome from time to time.
He ate a ton when we got home and is sleeping like an angel-doll-baby. Oh! And he woke up this morning all smiles at Marc. Cooing and everything. Life is great.
