grateful
11am on Sunday and I remember that we wanted to get our OB a present for taking such good care of us over the past ten months. But, we are without a car due to the rear-ending prior to the kid’s birth, so, I offer beg to ride my bike downtown to buy her a present. I left Marc with a bottle and was out the door just as the kid woke up from his morning nap. I heard his little cries as I callously closed the back door. Marc can handle it - and I am so unbelievably grateful.
It was beautiful, sunny and hot - I was sweating before I reached Town Lake. But, with the wind in my hair I peddled until my caffeine-infused blood was racing through my body and then coasted and enjoyed the ride. I can’t wait for the day when all three of us can do this, but, until then I will plug in my ipod and blast Arcade Fire as I cross the Congress Bridge and love every minute.
I came home to a sweet angel-doll-baby. And got to play with a child who’s brain is calming down a little more each day. He will actually sit with us for a few minutes at a time, play with a toy, coo and smile…until he decides that he doesn’t wish to spoil us - so, he spoils the moment instead - with a squealing cry - just so we don’t get too comfortable.
