baby care class
6:10pm
Let me just check my email one more time before we head out.
$#!^, the class started at 6 not 6:30!
Not only did we sign up late, but, we’re going to BE late. LAME LAME LAME.
6:25pm
A room full of “good parents” turn. Their collective eyes scream LOSERS!
7:00pm
We settled in to the back of the room. And although, we had to watch a video hosted by Designing Women’s ever-so-perky, Jean Smart, and a man who we should assume is her husband? - we surprisingly enjoyed the class.
9:00pm
Yeah - it was 3 hours long… people ask a lot of questions…
“is there any truth to the huggies for boys; pampers for girls theory?”
“…no.”
“your baby should only eat breast milk or formula for the first year.”
“but, what kind of foods should we really not introduce in the first year, other than, like, honey?”
“um…none of them.”
I of course, did not speak up, as I am evil and was logging every question as possible blog fodder. And there isn’t a chance in hell that I would risk somebody blogging about me.
Marc and I both enjoyed it and realized that for as cynical as we may be, perhaps we are ready to welcome this tiny, little, helpless creature into our home.
