ahh - lovely January

Just as we were getting a little cabin fever from a two week stretch of cold rainy weather we got a gorgeous sunny, 70 degree weekend.

Tim and Abby stopped by Austin Friday night on their drive from Dallas to Truckee in their new car studio apartment on wheels. We had a great time with them: Collings Guitars factory tour - we were a half hour late for the 45 minute tour, which didn’t really matter considering the tour actually lasted 2 1/2 hours - the factory is impressive and the tour was excellent. We headed to El Chile for yummy food and micheladas, (I think El Chile makes theirs with hot sauce, a dried chili/salt rim and lime juice - a miraculous cure for the N/A-beer-blues). A quick stop at Mean Eyed Cat for a beer and then home to hang out and talk until way too late - considering that Tim and Abby needed to be up at 7am and to get on the road. Luckily we talked them into breakfast at Cisco’s - migas with fajita and huevos for the girls - all served with tortillas AND biscuits - I love that place! Only a few photos because I forgot my camera Friday night.

After they left on Saturday I took a nap while Marc went into video game coma.

When I woke up I forced the wands from his hands so that we could enjoy some sun. We walked down to Guero’s for tacos and drinks. Did a little shopping on South Congress. Fought the desire to eat cupcakes. And then walked home where we took a nap (yes, second one for the day - we’re just following orders) and watched a movie. Great day.
